At this point I can't quite remember why I decided to stop the Classic Buckles strips.

I believe back when I reworked the page a little bit, I was concerned with making it easier to navigate by keeping the strips in one section only. I also put up the column solely for the books and the Buckles store.

Are they missed? Anyone else? So far I haven't heard anything other wise until I read this post.

Heck, as long as I'm thinking about it... does anyone have any changes or ideas would like to see to make Bucklescomic.com better?? The site has been long over due for a makeover.

I would like to see some of the Classic Buckles cartoons. I have been reading Buckles since around 1997ish, when it first appeared in the Detroit News and to be quite honest, Buckles became the only reason I would buy the paper! I then switched to following Buckles online....but back then, before the Buckles website, I had to go to the Houston Chronicle just to get my Buckles fix for the day. The main reason I had to go to the HC was because the Detroit News quit running Buckles for about two weeks.......I wrote letter upon letter to bring Buckles back and they did. I am not sure if it was all the letters from people or if it was an issue with the publishing company, either way......Buckles was back. I am very glad to have the Buckles website though.......KUDOS to you David Gilbert and your webmaster!!

Love ya Buckles!!!!

Jenni

Which papers host it, anyway? I know the Chronicle does, as well as the Seattle Post-Intelligencer(sic?)...

here's some ideas on where to add in the classic strips:

1) comics section, just add in the year of the sttips before the recent years
2) new section, titled : Buckles Classics
3)fill the empty space on the homepage with classic strips updated along with
the new ones

Hope these ideas help!

yes there is limits, but to save space, while posting comics,
first save B&W comics as 16 color bitmaps and for colored ones,
*jpeg images to save around 10 KB or more.

Actually, JPEGs are MUCH smaller than bitmaps, so jpegs or GIF(even smaller!) would be ok.

oops, you're right. oh well, he already has them as GIF
anyway. so the only way to get more space is to buy it
from the host. did you also know that the archive list
actually goes back 2 years ? if you go to jan. 2004,
you can skip back to Dec. 2003 until Jan. 2003.
he could just remove those to get space because no
one sees them there.
